U-DOT Asakusa is an original factory shoe brand born in Asakusa, Tokyo.
We thoroughly eliminate unnecessary decoration and materials and make our shoes using only a single piece of high-quality leather.
Although simple, it offers exceptional comfort and the inherent warmth and strength of leather.
"We use as little unnecessary material as possible and tailor each shoe from a single piece of high-quality, soft genuine leather." Based on this philosophy, we use our skilled craftsmanship and the handiwork of our artisans to deliver a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes.
About Us
Brand Concept
Our history and philosophy
The appeal and customization of made-to-order products
The biggest feature of our brand is our highly flexible custom order system.
You can choose original colors and materials for each part of any shoe, such as loafers or sneakers.
We pay attention to the details of each part, such as the leather, sole, and zipper, to create a special pair of shoes that is like a work of art.
After you place your order, our skilled craftsmen will carefully handcraft each pair and deliver them to you in approximately 4 to 5 weeks.

Production process and commitment to quality
All U-DOT products are made in Asakusa, Tokyo.
Asakusa has flourished as a mecca for the shoe industry for over 100 years, and is currently home to over 100 shoe factories, leather shops, and material stores.
The fact that more than half of the leather shoes made in Japan are made in Asakusa speaks to the high level of craftsmanship there.
As such, Asakusa, an entire town based on the shoe industry, has a unique culture that is rarely seen in Italy or America.
There are more than 10 schools in Tokyo where you can learn shoemaking techniques, and many people from Japan and abroad visit the city to study and find materials.
Welded (Construction)
U-dot shoes aim to be as light, soft and comfortable as possible.
Therefore, even though they are leather shoes, they use the welded method used for sneakers, and each pair is finished by hand in our own factory in Asakusa.
Single Leather
By consolidating what would normally require two pieces of leather into one, our brand is able to avoid the use of unnecessary glue and maximize the leather's natural comfort, warmth, and strength.
The simple structure, which eliminates lining and unnecessary core materials and wraps the foot in leather alone, allows you to enjoy the tasteful changes that occur over time with each wear.
Top stitched seam
While reinforcing tape or lining is usually used on the inside, U-dot uses the top stitch technique to create a simple stitching style that adds an accent to the design.
